Transmission Line (Construction of 18.6 km, 132 kV Double Circuit Line)
The work for construction of 132 kV Nikachhu Terminating Structures at Mangdechhu HEP was awarded to Bhutan Power Corporation Limited for Contract amount of Nu. 64.827 million on July 14, 2020. The commencement date is from Letter of Award. The duration of the contract is 10 months from LoA.
The Design, Engineering, Manufacture, Supply and Transportation of Terminating Equipment and 132 kV XLPE cables stands completed in March, 2021.
The civil works of 132 kV Nikachhu Terminating structures commenced on October 15, 2020. The joint handing taking over of the site at Mangdechhu Pothead Yard between MHEP and THyE was done on October 21, 2020.
The civil foundation works for Gantry Towers and other Equipment including installation of structures & equipment (CTs, CVTs, Wave Trap, Isolators, LAs etc.) stands completed. The cable trench construction works and laying of 132 kV XLPE cables including terminations also stands completed. The 100% of the work stands completed as on June 30, 2021 except for testing & commissioning.
The testing of Equipment (CTs, CVT, Isolators, Surge Arrestors) had been jointly carried out by THyE and BPC from December 08-12, 2021.
The final test of 132 kV XLPE cables and closures of all open points completed on November 12, 2022. The joint handing taking over of completed 132 kV Nikachhu Terminating Structures between THyE and BPC was signed on November 12, 2022.
